1: Wild Adventures started as a Petting Zoo!

In our humble beginnings, Wild Adventures was a petting zoo called Liberty Farms. In the early 1990s, we were founded by the Buescher family. By 1996, we became a full amusement park and concert venue!

2: Since 2019, Wild Adventures has committed to growing every year!

From the Discovery Outpost to the new Water’s Edge, Wild Adventures is committed to growing. In 2019, Wild Adventures announced our commitment to grow every year while also announcing the Discovery Outpost expansion. Since then, we’ve added Oasis Outpost, Wild Adventures Safari Campground, and expanded Water’s Edge!

3: From Mascots to Directors, All Wild Adventures Employees are eligible for free college tuition.

Any member of the Wild Adventures Team is eligible to apply for Grow U. Herschend's Grow U fully covers tuition, fees, and all required books and supplies. Team Members are eligible on day one of employment!

4: Beyoncé performed at the park!

In August of 2000, Destiny’s Child performed here at Wild Adventures! Many successful artists have performed at Wild Adventures as a part of our Wild Adventures LIVE! Concert Series before reaching stardom. Some of these artists include Shawn Mendes, Fifth Harmony, Dolly Parton and more!

5: Wild Adventures is home to over 500 animals!

From Red Ruff Lemurs to Sulcata Tortoises, Wild Adventures is proud to be the home of over 500 animals, many of which are former movie stars and circus animals! One notable celebrity animal was Shirley the Elephant.

Shirley spent the first portion of her long life in the spotlight, most notably starring in the live-action remake of “The Jungle Book” In 1995, she retired so she could live out her days being admired by guests and cared for by our skilled staff, and was believed to be the oldest living Asian elephant in the United States.

6: Wild Adventures was featured in the 2009 film, “Zombieland"

This Horror/Comedy film features Wild Adventures as Pacific Playland!  Featured in the movie is the Blazer Blast Off ride. Don’t worry! There are no remaining zombies on park!

7: We’ve got some cool sisters!

From Dollywood to Silver Dollar City, we’re a part of an amazing family. Our sisters include Kentucky Kingdom, Callaway Gardens, Newport Aquarium, Pirates Voyage, Adventure Aquarium, Vancouver Aquarium, Silver Dollar City, Dollywood, and Pink Adventure Tours!

Our Season Passholders even get discounted admission to these parks!

8: Award Winning Fun!

Wild Adventures was named the top theme park attraction in Geogia in 2023 by TripAdvisor! This was determined by reviews, ratings, photos, popularity and more! Wild Adventures was also named one of the most affordable theme parks in America, and Splash Island is regarded as one of the top 30 Water Parks in the country.

9: Finding Light in the Darkness

After the devastation caused to our community by Hurricane Helene, Wild Adventures was proud to host Valdosta/Lowndes’ first Drone Show! The LumiNights Sky Drone Show was a huge success and reminded residents that light can be found in the darkness. #LowndesCountyStrong

10: We’re almost 30!

We’re definitely thriving as we approach our 30th year of operation! We’ve changed a lot over the last 30 years, but our love for our guests stays the same! We wouldn’t be able to provide South Georgia with adventurous family fun without the support of our guests and community!
