Planning a trip to Wild Adventures? The weather in South Georgia can vary throughout the year, so it’s always a good idea to come prepared. Here's everything you need to know about how the park operates in different weather conditions.

Beat the Heat

Wild Adventures has its fair share of sunny days during the season, and it’s important to prepare properly for them. While there are plenty of shaded areas in the park to relax and cool off, you should prepare to be outdoors for the majority of the day

  • Sunscreen - Applying sunscreen before your visit, and after exiting any water rides or slides is crucial. If you forgot your sunscreen at home, that’s okay! You can pick some up Blue Lizard Sunscreen from Adventure Emporium, Expedition Market, Safari Outfitters, or Wave Gear.
  • Stay Hydrated - This feels like a no brainer, but the number one contributor of visits to our First Aid building would be from dehydration. To prevent this from happening, Wild Adventures sets up Hydration Stations throughout the park on days with high heat indexes where guests can grab free cups of water. We also offer free refills throughout the entire season when you purchase a Souvenir Cup or become a Gold or Diamond Season Passholder
  • Water Rides & Slides - What better way to cool off than with a water ride or slide?! Splash Island Waterpark opens on select days starting in April and has a variety of water attractions and slides to choose from. On the days that Splash Island Waterpark isn't in operation, there are many ways to cool off in Wild Adventures. The Splash Pad and The Misty Springs Soak Zone are the perfect attractions for kids and toddlers to cool off. Next are the family rides, Island Falls, and Tasmanian River Rapids, which are great ways to cool off as you are guaranteed to get wet!
