The Mexican Red Knee Tarantula are well known in the desserts of Mexico. During the heat they tend to hide in their silk-lined burrows, which typically are found under vegetation like cacti. Though venomous, the bite from a Mexican Red Knee Tarantula is not fatal to humans and can be compared to a bee sting.
