”The Great Ping Pong Race” to Benefit Valdosta Charity
VALDOSTA, Ga. – Wild Adventures Theme Park is partnering with The Miracle League of Valdosta to support sports programs for children and adults with disabilities with the fourth annual Great Ping Pong Race.
The Great Ping Pong Race begins at noon at Wild Adventures’ Splash Island Waterpark when hundreds of numbered ping pong balls will flood the park’s Paradise River. Donors can purchase a ball to support The Miracle League and win prizes if their ping pong balls cross the finish line first.
“The race was chosen as a way to bring more awareness to what The Miracle League of Valdosta offers but, at the same time, incorporate wonderful businesses and restaurants in the area that have joined in on the fun by offering a lot of great prizes,” said Andy Gibbs, Miracle League of Valdosta director. “We are excited to announce that 100 percent of the money raised from this event will go back to The Miracle League of Valdosta to give children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to play organized sports on a 200 foot, two-dimensional, rubberized baseball field.”
The first place grand prize is a Blackstone four-burner propane griddle with hood and six-piece griddle tool set donated by the Miller Hardware Company. Other prizes include a 65” TV, gift certificates to local businesses including Jessie’s Restaurant and Catering, Georgia Beer Company, Downtown Social, and more. Additionally, every pack of ping pong balls purchased will be entered into side drawings for Amazon gift cards..

Balls for The Great Ping Pong Race will be available for purchase at Wild Adventures from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Balls can also be purchased online at PingPongRace.com. On the day of the event, Wild Adventures welcomes multi-platinum recording artist Larry the Cable Guy. In addition to his well-known stand up comedy, Larry the Cable Guy is also a best selling author, voice of beloved character Mater in Cars feature films, and philanthropist, having donated more than 7 million dollars to various charities. Larry the Cable Guy takes the Wild Adventures LIVE! stage on Saturday, June 17 at 8 p.m.
General Admission to see Larry the Cable Guy is included free with a 2023 Season Pass, and Gold and Diamond Passholders can purchase Reserved Concert Seats for just $5 in advance. Guests who do not have a 2023 Season Pass can purchase General Admission to the show for $10 and Reserved Concert Seats for as low as $15 as an additional cost to park admission.
